Custom Cabinet Lighting

The customer wanted to move away from battery operated lights and limited control.

We used special LED dimmer switches that doubled as a class 2 power source. The switch converted from 120V AC to 24V DC to supplied UL listed COB LED strips housed in aluminum channel. By using a class 2 power source we were able to fish the cabling through cabinets and keep the wire well hidden, all while being compliant with the national electrical code.

The aluminum channel and LEDs were cut to size for each cabinet, even the 10" cabinets. The LED strips were UL listed and boasted a CIR over 90. A higher CIR (closer to 100) provides for a truer representation of color.

For this project we put the upper and lower cabinets on separate switches and went with 4000K white lights.

The result is well placed task lighting and customizable ambiance. There is no more bulky lights, cords going everywhere, or batteries to change. The kitchen has a clean ecstatic and a warm ambiance for the rest of the open concept first floor.
